it's not a big deal
I’ve never understood people who say “this doesn’t need to be a big deal” and then continue to argue about it. The simple fact that you are continuing to argue means that you do in fact think that it is a big deal.
That or the people who say “it’s not a big deal, you should just drop it.”
Either you:
- Truly do not think it is a big deal, in which case that person should drop it
- Do think it is not worth backing down from, in which case don’t dismiss people’s feelings by saying it’s not a big deal.
Really when you say that you’re simply saying that you don’t think the other person’s feelings matter, and they should just acquiesce to you since you are obviously correct.
