slow philosophical games
Two of my favorite philosophical games (The Talos Principle and 1000xResist) are really, really slow with their philosophy. The number of ideas they present are really low.
Weirdly enough, I think they work really well. They drip feed ideas and then they give you the space necessary to wrestle with them. A barrage of ideas has a lot of information, but you don’t have time to chew on anything before the next thing comes along.
This idea would never work in a TV show, it’d be far too boring, but with a game you’re interacting, and so it keeps you engage while your mind wrestles with these ideas.
