“We will burn the world and rebuild the world from the ashes” is a common trope in media. Accelerationists believe that destroying the current world is good no matter how it happens, because then at least there will be some change.
This is why there was surprising overlap between Sanders supporters and Trump supporters in the 2016 election, since both Sanders and Trump were seen as people who would overturn the standard political regime.
