diary

This note last modified September 1, 2024

It’s easy to remember the big moments. The horrible embarrassments, the great bits of fun. What often gets lost from memories is the zeitgeist of the times, the little events that don’t seem to mean much at the time, but mean a lot in sum.

I’ve been keeping a diary since senior year of high school. I’ve recently started reading my entries from 4 years ago, and it’s very interesting to see my own growth. See things I used to be worried about and how they turned out. Honestly it’s made me quite proud of myself.

Plus, diaries are fantastic for distilling your thoughts and figuring out what really matters to you.

I 100% recommend keeping a diary to anyone. It takes years to amass enough to get the benefits, but it’s absolutely worth it.
