trickle down
Ideas sometimes never leave the circles in which they are born. Despite this, ideas, even specific, complex, and non-memetic ideas are extremely important since they inspire other ideas, which inspire other ideas in turn. Abstract, impractical ideas still trickle down into practical and common ideas.
I suppose this is a sort of coherentism in a macro sense
